There has always been a Tamamo no Mae. For as long as people have walked the mist-haunted forests of northern Kagejima, Tamamo no Mae has watched them. Few, they freely admit, can resist her enticing call. None, they darkly concede, escape her traps.

Ninja Division's Strategy[]

Tamamo No Mae is the Super Dungeon Hero that comes in the Clan Kitsune warband expansion. With magic as her primary attack and a range of four, she is a mid-range magic user, giving her a unique place in the ranks of Super Dungeon Heroes.

Her two unique actions are Flush Out The Prey and AllureFlush Out The Prey is a pretty standard burst attack, which allows you to hit multiple monsters if they are grouped up. But this attack becomes much more deadly when used with AllureAllure allows Tamamo No Mae to compel enemies, clumping them up before finishing them all off with a mighty Flush Out The Prey attack. Allure is also great for repositioning enemies in order to clear doorways, set up for another Hero’s attack, and generally disrupt the Consul’s dastardly plans!

Tamamo No Mae’s potion is Foxglove. It is a blue potion so it must be used during the Hero turn, and it grants the Territorial ability. Territorial grants the Hero a number of white stars to offense rolls equal to the tile they’re standing on (one bonus star on this first tile, two on the second tile, etc). This means this potion becomes more useful the deeper you delve into the dungeon, and is very powerful against the final dungeon boss!

Tamamo No Mae is an excellent addition to any party!

Gameplay[]

Additional Strategy: Allure can also affect heroes; she can use it to bring her ally closer to the target, or take them away where they can heal themselves.

Equipment/Buffs: Mae only needs ways to increase her WILL and ARM. When making a treasure deck, be sure to add cards that complement Allure; Divine Vestments and Staff of Spring let her heal any injured ally she can drag away, while Bramble Bracers and Fire Gel Goo, combined with Fizzy Cola and certain potions, can set the minions up for a powerful long range blast.

The Vandella and Goro expansions each have a card that not only gives her more options, but also rewards her Ruby affinity with +1G WILL, making her Allure more effective. Goro's Roaring Pendant of the Wood, in addition to giving would be attackers Knockdown, gives her an increase to both ARM and WILL, as is Beatrix's poison inflicting Toxic Tincture.

Limitations: Mae's mage and Flush out the Prey attacks are both Range:4, meaning she'll need to be a little closer to the combat than the regular mages. Allure affects most models, but an increase to her WILL is required for some of the more 'intelligent' ones.

Foxglove is extremely powerful in Explore and Arcade, but in Arena you may want to consider swapping it for Astral Armour; as heroes are the only characters that can drink potions, giving her guaranteed 2 WILL is not as good as giving even 0 ARM monsters a chance to survive her opponents attacks, specifically in King of the Hill.

Party:

Two heroes that can work with her are Arena Champion and Star Princess Candy; Mae can switch to full support by bringing them together and using one of their potions, while the other ladies can push Destruction and Rebel Shot even further with Foxglove.
