Treasure Back

Treasure is the classification for all Treasure Cards that make up the Treasure Decks for all versions of Super Dungeon.

Before play starts add the Treasure cards for the Dungeon Boss and Mini-Bosses into the Treasure Deck then shuffle.

It is placed on the table during a game of Super Dungeon Explore, so that all players are able to reach it.

SD:E 1.0[]

The Treasure Deck is made up of relic cards that represent powerful magical items that are discovered in treasure chests scattered throughout the dungeon.

The Treasure Deck is made up of relic cards. The 16 relic cards and 2 Boo Booty cards that come with the boxed set are considered the base Treasure Deck. Dungeon Bosses and some other monsters may come with additional relic cards. These cards will have a picture of the Boss they come with printed on the card. When this occurs, those cards are added to the base Treasure Deck for any game in which they are fielded.

Forgotten King / Forgotten King Arcade[]

The base treasure deck is made up of 24 treasure cards.

Some models are supplied with unique, model treasure cards. These cards are indicated by the model’s portrait on the card. Only treasure cards supplied with models or wonders being used in the game may be chosen.

Add these cards to the 24 base treasure cards to build a 42 card treasure deck.

  • FK Explore: The Consul chooses three model treasure cards and six boo booty treasure cards.
  • FK Arcade: The players choose six model treasure cards, six boo booty treasure cards, and six wonder treasure cards.

The Heroes choose three model treasure cards and six wonder treasure cards.

Arcade 1.0[]

Only Heroes may open treasure chests. When a treasure chest is opened they may either draw a card from the treasure deck as normal OR they may draw a single card from the Loot Deck.

If a treasure card is drawn the Hero may equip the card immediately or sacrifice it to gain a potion counter.

SD:E 2.0[]

The party earns rewards for its accomplishments during the activation phase. The party places earned rewards in the backpack. Rewards may be used by any Hero.

There is no maximum on the amount of loot or treasure cards the Heroes may draw in a turn. Heroes draw one loot for every full three skull points of 8-Bit monsters destroyed in one turn; if the Heroes only destroy one or two skull points worth of 8-Bit monsters, they do not carry over to subsequent turns.

For each mini-boss destroyed draw 1 treasure card.

For each boo booty destroyed draw a number of treasure cards equal to the tile on which the boo booty was spawned (one for the first tile, two for the second tile, and three for the third tile). The Heroes select one treasure card and discard the rest.

The party may not draw loot cards for monsters that were destroyed during the Consul Turn (such as from Fire or Backlash) or that possess the Insignificant ability. Rewards for destroying spawning points or which result in treasure cards may be drawn as normal, regardless of the turn it was destroyed.

If equipment is discarded from a Hero, including if it was discarded because the Hero replaced it with a new equipment card, the equipment is placed in the discard pile, not the backpack.

Six loot cards can be exchanged for one treasure card.
