Spawning points are the lynchpin of the Consul's army.

Kobolds super dungeon explore by michelle84-d3i5isq-1-

All monsters in Super Dungeon Explore start the game from spawn points, and each type of spawn type produces a different race of monster. The consul chooses which spawn points they want to use, and therefore the monsters that will be used in their dungeon.

Recently Ninja Division has started releasing new batches of Miniatures that have just the spawn point and the minions and elites that spawn from them. Unlike the Warbands that had a Mini-Boss and a themed Hero to match. So we are calling these sets "Spawning Points" to set them apart from Warbands, Single and Boss expansions, or Core and Tile sets.

This is a listing of all the Spawning Points within the game! This is not a Category page because Core sets contain different spawn points and this is an easier way to display all the Spawn points.

Paired Spawning Points[]

Some spawning points only come in pairs of two. These are called paired spawning points. The monsters listed on a paired spawning point’s card is the total number of monsters added to the spawning pool for both spawning points combined.

Using a paired spawning point may reduce the variety of monsters the Consul has access to, but paired spawning points usually have more wounds, making them harder to destroy!

Large Spawning Points[]

Some spawning points may be large based models. If they are, one of the squares they occupy during setup must have the spawning point icon.

Spawn Points[]

The consul must choose which spawn points to populate the dungeon with. Each spawn point allows for the spawning of specific monsters.

Kobold Warrens[]

The starter box also includes four kobold Warrens spawn points. These are slightly different, in that they require 2 spawn points to be used to generate their spawns. Kobolds are not very strong individually, with perhaps the Iron scale as an exception, but can become very fearsome en masse.

Active Spawn Points[]

These were introduced in the SDE NAS > SDE crossover.

Most spawning points cannot activate - they are immobile and are used only to spawn new monsters on to the dungeon. However, some spawning points may be considered 16-Bit monsters as well as spawning points. If this is the case, the spawning point’s card will make this clear and list all of its statistics and actions.

Spawning points with Active Spawn may activate during the Consul Turn in the same manner as 16-Bit Monsters. When destroyed they grant loot as normal for spawning points.

In Arcade Mode these are Solo Spawn or Solo Paired Spawn. This Solo is also a spawning point with the spawning pool listed on the back of the card. It follows commands as if it were a solo, and spawns as if it were a paired spawning point. When this solo receives the move command, it moves directly away from the closest Hero.
