"For seasoned roleplayers an NPC's story function is clear, they are interesting characters your Heroes may interact with during both adventures and downtime, bringing life and character to the world. So what do they do outside of roleplaying?

In Super Dungeon lingo you can think of them as "creeps" that are beneficial to the Hero's party. NPCs can show up in adventures, often as part of the adventure's goal, but also as simple characters beneficial to the Heroes.

For instance, when Burke Badhammer is encountered in a dungeon, he can help a Hero out by reforging a piece of Loot or Treasure, providing you with a new draw at the expense of a piece already equipped.

Depending on the adventure, an NPC may be an simple encounter as described above, or may even join you on your adventure for a limited time. Of course, once you begin building your own adventures, the only limit to what an NPC can do is up to your imagination and the story you want to tell.

NPCs that aren't being used in your adventure or campaign make fantastic models to help make your Hero all your own. For instance, Burke can represent a doughty human Hearthsworn Fighter or brutal Riftling Warrior. He can also make a fantastic Royal Paladin, Questing Knight, or Royal Warden at the beginning of their adventuring career, to be swapped out with the appropriate model once he's advanced in class.

We're sure you'll find the NPC models a versatile tool in your Super Dungeon toolbox, further enriching your games!"-SPARKLEBURST!
